Jesus commanded his followers to preach door to door, why don't people appreciate JW's are following this?

We did not have TV or the vast communication we do now. But it is a good thing to do even at that I believe. I don't believe a lot the JWs teach though. They actually believe only 144000 will be saved. This is crazy. Anyways, the 144000 are Jews from the Tribes that will be witnesses in the time of the Great Tribulation.
